Grove Mews, Hammersmith and Fulham

Redevelopment of derelict mews house, plus additional roof extension and terrace

The site comprises a two-storey mid-terraced mews property located on the western side of Grove Mews, Hammersmith. The property is not listed but does fall within the Hammersmith Grove Conservation Area.

The existing building was in a very poor state of repair and had structural issues. The building required redevelopment before it could be re-occupied.

The proposed development sought substantial demolition and re-build whilst adding an additional storey at roof level. The additional level will be set back from the front elevation. The proposed works will facilitate the creation of larger sized home and a roof terrace, consistent with neighbouring examples.

Despite the need for significant demolition, the design utilised a fabric-first approach with Passivhaus u-values.
