Contemporary redevelopment of detached dwellinghouse
The Site currently comprises a single detached two-storey family dwelling with an internal garage located to one side. The Site sits at the end of Coombe Bank, which is a cul-de-sac, and is within an Area of Special Character as designated on the Council’s Proposals Map. The existing building is outdated, no longer serves the needs of the multi-generational occupants (e.g. level access), and requires modernisation throughout.
The development demolishes the existing two-storey dwelling, to allow the erection of a new 2.5 storey dwelling, plus basement with integrated garage parking. The proposed dwelling is of a similar footprint to the existing but looks to provide a high quality / highly sustainable dwelling that is modern in form, function and appearance, yet remains sensitive to the character, scale and urban grain of its immediate locale.
