Lawful use of 4ha site for open storage, near Heathrow
On 16 October 2019, South Bucks Council approved, subject to a 106 Agreement, the use for open storage of a 4ha estate (Link Park Heathrow) at West Drayton in South Bucks.
The estate is in Metropolitan Green Belt. Although the estate has been in commercial use since the early 1980’s, local residents strongly opposed the planning application. Their main concerns were the number of lorries that would pass houses in the area and the effect of the lorries on air pollution.
The applicants, Link Park Heathrow LLP, agreed to limit the number of HGV movements per day; to ensure that occupiers of the estate use lorries that meet the most stringent EU requirements (Euro V and VI); and to make a financial contribution to air quality improvement in the area.
