Heritage-led refurbishment and extension of former Magistrates Court, creating 10 bespoke apartments, retail frontage and restoration of original market square.
Until the end of 2011 the site was used as a Magistrate’s Court for Her Majesty’s Courts Services.
The applicants intend to convert and extend the building to form a restaurant/ café at ground and lower ground floors and 9 flats at the rear and over upper floors. In addition to this the area currently occupied by a car park will be, in due course, transformed into a new area of public open space.
