Brian Kavanagh graduated with honours in Architectural Technology from Napier University, Edinburgh in May 2010, before going on to graduate with a first class honours in Planning and Sustainable Development from University College Cork in 2012. Prior to joining NT+A, he worked in local government in Ireland and McLaren Construction in London, providing detailed design and planning advice for the pre-construction team on large scale developments across the UK and Asia for the latter.
Brian joined NT+A as a Planner in their London office in early 2014. He was promoted to Associate in 2018 before establishing their Yorkshire office, and promoted to Partner in 2022.
His specialism is development management, particularly for major education, healthcare and residential developments in often challenging locations throughout the United Kingdom. Through his experience gained in his early career in local government, he can expertly advise on the decision-making process. His knowledge of the planning, design and construction ensure that the project is in safe and capable hands at all stages of the project.
Brian can manage a development project from conception to construction, organise successful community engagement, advise specialist consultants, and make convincing arguments at planning committees. He is also proficient at AutoCad and 3D modelling.
